Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback: A fresh generation of this Mercedes-Benz A-Class compact hatch is brewing and we’ve got new spy shots which show the comprehensive design. In addition, we have a movie demonstrating a prototype on the go.
We have already been treated using a preview of this layout in the shape of the A Sedan idea. Inspired by the most recent spy shots and movie, the proportions fit those of the recent A-Class hatch. The wheelbase appears more, however, as evidenced with the elongated back doors. This should lead to some much-needed space from the cottage.
Speaking of the cottage, though heavily masked it seems Mercedes’ designers ‘ are incorporating the fundamental display with the dashboard rather than attaching it on as in the present version.
Another shift is that the positioning of both mirrors. They are presently mounted on the doors rather than higher up in the bottom of their A-pillars. This should lead to enhanced visibility. And those odd markings on peak of the windshield are all probably detectors for various driver assists.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback Specs
The newest A-Class hatch is going to be the first version to ride on the next-generation variant of the present MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) system utilized in compact cars from Mercedes. Called MFA2, the next-generation system will bring weight economies and increased capability for other powertrains. A stretched version of the platform will underpin another B-Class, the above A-Class sedan, and also a new SUV rumored to be known as the GLB.
It turns out that the platform isn’t compatible with the Japanese company’s variable compression motors.
For the Mercedes versions, anticipate inline-4 motors and dual-clutch broadcasts to feature prominently. We hear another A45 out of AMG will package up to 400 horsepower.
